Has anyone tried a deck plate mod on a Mustang for improved intake airflow?

I’ve been hearing about the deck plate mod for Mustangs to improve airflow, and I’m curious if anyone here has tried it. Is it worth the effort, or am I better off going with a cold air intake or something more straightforward? Would love to hear some real-world experiences before I start messing with my engine.
