Mustang overheating symptoms: What should I watch out for?
#1
Hey everyone, I’ve been having some issues with my Mustang, and I’m starting to worry it might be overheating. I haven’t had a full breakdown yet, but I’m seeing some signs that make me think it's heading that way. What symptoms should I be on the lookout for before things get really bad?

Here’s what I’ve noticed so far: the temperature gauge has been creeping up, especially when I’m stuck in traffic or driving for long periods. It doesn’t go into the red zone, but it’s definitely higher than usual. I haven’t seen any steam (yet), but I have noticed a faint burning smell when I get out of the car after a drive. Could that be coolant leaking or something else? Also, I’ve heard this weird gurgling sound under the hood after I turn the car off, almost like boiling water – is that normal?

I’m trying to avoid a full-blown overheating situation because I know it can get expensive fast (I’ve heard horror stories of needing new radiators or even worse). Should I be checking the thermostat or could it just be low coolant? How can I tell if it’s something more serious like the water pump? And what other early signs should I keep an eye out for? Any advice on how to prevent this from turning into a major issue would be awesome!
