Can low power steering fluid cause my Mustang to stall?

Weird question, but can low power steering fluid cause your car to stall? My Mustang stalled twice last week, and I noticed the steering’s been kinda stiff. Wondering if the two are related. Has anyone else dealt with this? If so, what was the fix?
