Has anyone used a DIY oil extractor for a Mustang? Recommendations?
#1
So, I’m looking to avoid the usual mess of draining the oil pan and thinking of trying one of those DIY oil extractors for my Mustang. The idea of not having to crawl under the car and deal with oil splashing everywhere sounds pretty appealing, especially since it’s always a race against time to make sure the oil doesn’t overflow. But, does an oil extractor really work as well as people say?

I’ve seen a few different models online, but I’m not sure which one is best for a Mustang’s engine. Some of them look kinda flimsy, and I’m not sure if they can handle the job. Do you have any recommendations for a reliable brand or model that you’ve personally used? I don’t want to get halfway through the oil change only to realize I still need to jack up the car and drain it the old-fashioned way. 😬

Also, is there anything tricky about using one of these on a Mustang? Do they get all the oil out, or is it better to stick to the good old drain plug? I’m just trying to figure out if the convenience outweighs any potential issues. Would love to hear your thoughts, especially if you’ve used one on a V8 Mustang!
