So, here’s the deal – my Mustang’s heat only works when I’m accelerating, and it’s driving me nuts! When I’m just cruising at low speeds or sitting at a stoplight, it starts blowing cold air. But as soon as I hit the gas, bam, the heat kicks back in like normal. It’s like the car is messing with me! I’ve tried adjusting the temperature settings and fan speed, but nothing seems to help.
Has anyone else run into this strange issue? I’m starting to think it could be a problem with the heater core, but I’m not sure. I’ve also heard it might have something to do with low coolant levels or air in the cooling system. If that’s the case, maybe the engine isn’t getting enough coolant flow at lower RPMs, which could explain why the heat cuts out when I’m not accelerating.
I’m hoping this isn’t a sign of something more serious, like a failing water pump or thermostat. If anyone has dealt with this before and found a fix, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Is this something I can DIY, or should I take it to a mechanic? Any advice would be awesome!
