Why does my Mustang’s belt squeal when it rains?

Every time it rains, my Mustang’s belt starts squealing like a banshee! I mean, it's embarrassing, especially when I’m driving past people and they think I’m driving a rust bucket. 😅 Is this a normal thing when belts get wet, or should I be checking the tension or replacing the belt
