How to fix rough idle in cold weather on a Mustang?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-26-2024, 01:58 PM - Forum: Mechanical - No Replies

Every winter, my Mustang seems to struggle with a rough idle, especially on those freezing cold mornings. It’s almost like the engine just doesn’t wanna wake up – the RPMs jump around for the first minute or so, and sometimes it feels like it's about to stall. Once it warms up, it’s mostly fine, but the start-up is rough every time it’s cold out. I've even noticed a slight drop in power during acceleration until the engine gets to a normal temperature. It’s frustrating because I don’t have this issue in warmer weather.

I’ve already tried a few things, but nothing seems to solve it completely. Changed the spark plugs last winter, but the issue came back again this year. I’ve cleaned the throttle body and checked for vacuum leaks – nothing obvious. I’ve also heard it could be something with the idle air control (IAC) valve or maybe a dirty MAF sensor, but I’m not sure if I’m heading in the right direction.

Anyone else had this problem with their Mustang? I’m trying to avoid throwing money at random parts or spending a fortune at the mechanic. Could it be a fuel issue, or am I missing something simple? Any tips or advice would be awesome – I’m starting to feel like I’m driving a lawnmower in the mornings!

3457 vs 3157 bulbs: Which is better for Mustang?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-26-2024, 01:23 PM - Forum: Taillights - No Replies

Hey guys, I’m trying to figure out the difference between the 3457 and 3157 bulbs for my Mustang. I need to replace a brake light and both of these seem to fit, but which one is actually better? Does anyone know if there’s a difference in brightness or lifespan? I’ve heard mixed things, so I thought I’d ask the experts here before I just grab whichever one is cheaper!

Does the 2020 Mustang come with a heated steering wheel?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-24-2024, 09:47 PM - Forum: Questions - No Replies

Hey, I’m thinking about upgrading to a 2020 Mustang, and I was wondering if it comes with a heated steering wheel. I’ve heard that some trims might have it, but I’m not sure which ones. It would be a game-changer for those cold mornings! Anyone with a 2020 model—how do you like it if you’ve got the heated steering wheel, and is it worth the upgrade?

What are the best wheels for a 2007 Ford Mustang?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-24-2024, 09:46 PM - Forum: Rims - No Replies

I’m looking to upgrade the wheels on my 2007 Mustang. Any recommendations on size, brand, and style? I’m going for something that looks clean but doesn’t mess with the handling. Been looking at American Muscle wheels, but open to suggestions.

Where is the 2003 Mustang cabin air filter located?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-24-2024, 09:46 PM - Forum: Questions - No Replies

If you’re like me and can’t find the cabin air filter on your 2003 Mustang, don’t stress! Turns out, they didn’t put one in until later models. Yeah, crazy, right? If your AC is smelling funky, it’s not the filter—it’s probably time to clean out the vents or replace the blower motor.

What is the correct lug nut torque for Mustang SVT wheels?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-24-2024, 09:45 PM - Forum: Rims - No Replies

Hey everyone, I’ve got a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra, and I’m about to put on some new wheels. I’ve heard different things about the correct lug nut torque—some people say 95 lb-ft, others say it should be closer to 100 lb-ft. I definitely don’t want to over or under-torque them and have a wheel fly off while I’m cruising down the highway, lol. Can anyone confirm the exact torque spec for SVT wheels on this model year? I’m trying to play it safe and make sure everything’s tightened down just right!

Why is my maintenance required light flashing in my Mustang?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-24-2024, 09:24 PM - Forum: Error codes - No Replies

So, the annoying 'maintenance required' light on my Mustang is flashing again, and it’s driving me nuts. Here’s the thing—I just did an oil change last week, so I’m a bit confused why it’s still on. Does anyone know if this light needs to be manually reset after maintenance, or could there be something else triggering it that I should check out? I’ve heard it could be tied to other issues, but I’m hoping it's just a simple reset. Any advice on how to get rid of this flashing light before I start worrying something else is wrong?

What does 'steering power low' mean on my Mustang?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-24-2024, 09:19 PM - Forum: Error codes - No Replies

Okay, I got a 'steering power low' message on my dash today. What even is that? Steering feels fine, but now I’m paranoid something's about to go wrong. Is this a sensor issue or should I start checking the power steering fluid? Help!

Which is better for engine cleaning: Marvel Mystery Oil vs Seafoam?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-24-2024, 09:19 PM - Forum: Questions - No Replies

Alright, so I’ve been hearing mixed reviews on Marvel Mystery Oil and Seafoam for engine cleaning. Some swear by Marvel, others say Seafoam all day. What’s worked better for you guys? I’m trying to clean up some old deposits in the engine of my '05 GT and don’t want to wreck anything

What are the symptoms of a bad front sway bar link on a Ford Mustang?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-24-2024, 09:16 PM - Forum: Mechanical - No Replies

Hey guys, I'm getting a weird rattling sound when going over bumps in my ‘08 Mustang. Could it be the front sway bar link? I heard that can cause handling issues too. Anyone know what else to look out for before I start throwing parts at the problem?
