What could be the cause of orange fluid leaking from my Mustang?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-04-2024, 10:59 AM - Forum: Mechanical - No Replies

I popped the hood on my Mustang today and noticed some orange fluid leaking down near the front of the engine. At first, I thought it was rust or something, but after looking closer, I realized it's definitely fluid. I’m guessing it’s coolant because I’ve read somewhere that some coolants are orange, but I’m still not 100% sure. Now, I have no idea if this is a minor issue or if I should be rushing to the mechanic. Anyone here ever deal with this? Could it be a cracked radiator, a busted hose, or something else? Also, should I be worried about overheating? I’m thinking of trying to fix it myself, but I don’t wanna mess anything up if it's serious. What do you guys think? Is this something a DIYer can handle, or should I get it looked at by a professional ASAP?

Who makes the best oil filters for a 2006 Ford Mustang?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 09-04-2024, 10:54 AM - Forum: Engine Oil - No Replies

Okay, so I just changed my oil and used an STP filter... but now I’m wondering, who actually makes these things? Is STP any good, or am I just wasting my money? Some people swear by them, but I’m skeptical. Anyone had issues with these? What brand do you guys trust for your Mustangs?

Hey, does anyone have a serpentine belt diagram for the 2004 Mustang GT? I’ve been searching everywhere and just can’t seem to find the right one. My belt is squeaking like crazy, and I’m not sure if it’s on its last leg or what. Any help would be much appreciated! Even a pic would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

How to achieve a ghost cam idle on a Mustang?

Anyone here tried getting that ghost cam idle on their Mustang? I’ve been playing around with tunes and love the sound, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the hype. What’s your experience with it? Is it just for show, or does it add some hidden performance?

General G-MAX AS-05 tire review for Mustang owners
Posted by: Nicko - 08-28-2024, 01:47 PM - Forum: Tires - No Replies

I've been running the General G-MAX AS-05 tires on my Mustang for a few months now, and I have to say, they've really impressed me. Initially, I was a bit skeptical about going with a tire that’s not as well-known as some of the bigger brands, but these have proven to be a great choice. The grip is outstanding, especially in wet conditions – I’ve driven through some pretty heavy rain, and these tires held the road like champs. No slipping or hydroplaning, even when I had to make quick lane changes.

In terms of dry performance, they’ve also been solid. Whether I’m cruising on the highway or pushing the car a bit on some twisty back roads, the tires give me confidence in every turn. I was worried they might wear out quickly with the way I drive, but so far, they’re holding up really well. The tread still looks great, and I haven’t noticed any uneven wear or other issues.

Noise levels are pretty low, too, which is a bonus for daily driving. They’re not the absolute quietest tires I’ve ever had, but they’re far from being loud or annoying. For the price, I think the G-MAX AS-05 offers a great balance of performance and value. Any other Mustang owners out there who’ve tried these? How are they working out for you?

Mustang Fastback vs. Coupe – Which one should I choose?
Posted by: v8ismyheart - 08-28-2024, 01:43 PM - Forum: Questions - No Replies

Stuck between choosing a Mustang Fastback or a Coupe. Both have their pros and cons, but I can’t make up my mind! If you had to pick one, which would it be and why? I’m leaning towards the Fastback for that iconic look, but the Coupe has its appeal too.
